What does the ERCP with stone extraction procedure involve?

ERCP (Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography) combines endoscopy and X-ray imaging to access the bile ducts. A thin, flexible tube is passed through the mouth to the duodenum, where a small cut (sphincterotomy) is made to widen the duct opening.
