Ideal candidates have Fuchs endothelial dystrophy or pseudophakic bullous keratopathy with corneal swelling not controlled by medication. Good candidates typically have healthy corneal stroma and epithelium. Contraindications include active ocular infection, severe glaucoma, uncontrolled inflammation, or significant corneal scarring that would require a full-thickness transplant.
