About Shanghai Sixth People's Hospital
Shanghai Sixth People's Hospital, founded 1904, is China's birthplace of replantation surgery — the world's first successful severed-arm reattachment was performed here in 1963 by Professor Chen Zhongwei. Today's 1,800-bed hospital leads China in hand/limb microsurgery, orthopedics, sports medicine, endocrinology, and reconstructive surgery, with national clinical research centers.
