What is Haploidentical HSCT?

When a perfectly matched related or unrelated donor is not available, a half-matched family member (parent, child, sibling) can serve as donor. Post-transplant cyclophosphamide revolutionized haplo-HSCT, making outcomes comparable to matched donor transplants.

Who is a candidate?

Outcomes

Engraftment: 95%+. Grade III-IV acute GVHD: 10-15%. Moderate-severe chronic GVHD: 25-30%. 3-year OS for AML in CR: 60-70% (comparable to matched sibling). Relapse rate: 20-30%.
