What is Cataract Surgery + Trifocal IOL?

Phacoemulsification removes the cloudy natural lens through a 2.2mm incision, replaced with a trifocal intraocular lens that provides clear vision at three distances — distance, intermediate (computer), and near (reading). Most patients become completely glasses-free.

Who is a candidate?

• Visually significant cataract
• Healthy macula (no significant AMD or DR)

Outcomes

Spectacle independence: 85-95% for routine tasks. UCVA 20/20 distance: 80-90%. UCNVA J3 or better: 85-90%. Halos/glare: 10-15% report mild symptoms (most adapt over 3-6 months).
