What is Corneal Cross-Linking?

CXL is the only treatment that halts progression of keratoconus. UV-A light activates riboflavin in the corneal stroma, creating new chemical bonds (cross-links) between collagen fibers — strengthening the cornea by 300% and stopping the disease.
